Days of Our Lives Recap Friday, May 10: Melinda Trask Drops Major Bombshell as Haley Prepares For Deportation, Angry Mother Sets Off On Path For Revenge Against Claire and Eve

Days of Our Lives spoilers: Election stunner

We finally learn the reason why that video of Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) and Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) never played during the Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) rally: Melinda Trask (Laura Kai Chen). In a very exposition-heavy scene where she catches Claire and Tripp in a compromising position, she goes off on them and explains she broke into Jack and Eve’s hotel room and destroyed the tape. She figured Jack and Eve were up to something, so she’s been keeping very on top of things.

Not enough, though, because Eve has the recording Claire made and is using it as blackmail fodder. She says either Hayley Chen (Thia Megia) admits her marriage is fake and takes the full blame, or she’ll play that tape and let others go down with her. Hayley, to her credit takes responsibility and attends a last-second press conference hosted by Jack and Eve to confess. The actor’s reactions to her speech are priceless, by the way.

Days of Our Lives spoilers: No forgiveness

Nicole is still furious that Eric didn’t do anything to get Holly back, even after knowing that a cartel was after Chole Lane (Nadia Bjorlin). She discusses this with Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers), who was about to indulge in some vodka out on the town. Nicole stops her by asking for some water and realizing that it’s really vodka in the glass. Maggie admits to being tempted after everything that’s happened. Their talk doesn’t do much to help Nicole’s anger at Eric, either, as Maggie informs her Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) did, in fact, try to do something.

Armed with this new info, she seeks out Brady to thank him after bringing Maggie home. Eric just happens to be at Casa Kiriakis as well, having come to see if Nicole was there. Brady had actually been sympathetic and encouraging to Eric, and even took the real blame for Holly’s death by having pulled that blackmail stunt. Anyway, Nicole gives Eric the cold shoulder while practically throwing herself at Brady in gratitude. She makes a point of saying she’s glad someone around here had the good sense to try getting Holly out of that situation. She again rebukes another attempt from Eric to talk, and says that she just needs him to get out of her sight.

DOOL spoilers: Honey, I’m back

Nicole is getting a comforting hug when an unexpected (and unwelcome) guest joins the party: Xander Cook (Paul Telfer). He enters the house and walks in on them, then demands that Brady gets his hands off his wife. Like, really? He doesn’t seriously think she’ll stay married to him, does he? At least not unless he’s planning to cough up that kid. Nicole’s in “nothing to lose” mode right now.
