The Young and the Restless Spoilers & Comings and Goings: Melissa Claire Egan Is Back As Chelsea Newman!

According to Entertainment Weekly, Melissa will be back on the set of The Young and the Restless as early as next month to begin taping episodes that will air by June. The timing doesn’t surprise many fans, as it has also been announced that Adam Newman is expecting to come back to Genoa City in the coming months, too. However, Adam’s last portrayer, Justin Hartley, won’t be coming back to reprise the role. Instead, newcomer Mark Grossman will be taking over as the new face for the character.

The last time Chelsea was seen in action was back in February of 2018. That’s when she left town with her son Connor in order to avoid jail time. Chelsea left just when former The Young and the Restless executive Mal Young took over the reigns as the new head writer for the show. Now that he’s gone, a lot of familiar faces and fan favorites are returning to the show.

In addition to her work on daytime television, Melissa Claire Egan has been keeping rather busy in the entertainment industry. She recently filmed a starring role in the Hallmark movie, Holiday for Heroes, that will air in November. Before she joined the cast of The Young and the Restless, she played Annie on All My Children from 2006 to 2011. She has also earned five Daytime Emmy nominations for her work.

And while no one knows what’s in store for Chelsea yet, there’s no doubt that it’s going to be full of interesting twists and turns. We can’t wait!
