Days of Our Lives Spoilers: JJ’s Detective Senses Ringing Up A Storm, Gets Closer To Uncovering Claire’s Shocking Secret
Claire is furious when Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) leaves her alone at the Salem Inn to comfort Hayley Chen (Thia Megia) after Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva) came asking questions. She immediately calls her partners in duplicity to read them the riot act over ruining her night with Tripp. She wants them to come forward with the video and get Hayley out of here tonight. Jack and Eve beg to differ.

They think it’s better to wait until after the alleged happy couple lies to ICE for bigger impact. And we are stunned at the stupid on two levels. One, that Claire thinks Tripp will believe she had nothing to do with that video. The other being, that she thinks she’ll still have a future with Tripp after she helps expose him for immigration fraud. Has she been paying attention when it was discussed that they could go to jail for this?
This girl is a special kind of stupid. She is smart enough, though, to keep her dirty secret regarding the cabin fire to herself after Eve goes all motherly on her and wants to know why Claire is always so edgy and convinced of doom. Their bonding is sort of sweet, even though we think nothing truly good can come of it.
As for Tripp, he arrives back at the loft in time to interrupt a not-so-nice conversation between Hayley and Melinda Trask (Laura Kai Chen). Melinda thinks they’re crazy if they believe they can pull off this fake engagement. Hayley’s not so interested in Melinda’s opinion since Melinda told her she’s on her own. Tripp, when he gets there, takes Hayley’s side and says he doesn’t care about the consequences before telling Melinda what she can do with herself. Of course, there may be one more crazy twist in this whole situation yet, because Melinda had implied there was something she had to talk to Hayley about before Tripp arrived.

More drama for Cinners
After learning what Jordan Ridgeway (Chrishell Hartley) had to say about the first fire, Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) seems to be about to eye Ben once more. Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) tells her to not go there, then insists on driving Ben back to the DiMera mansion, as he can’t drive himself.
Once there, she assures him (again) she believes in him and will stand by his side. She also blows off his concerns about being at the DiMera mansion, but Ben eventually talks her into going home so he can get back to work. We’re hoping they don’t backslide too much because of all this…
Adios—again.
Rafe isn’t sure what to think when Jordan tells him she’s got a baby living with a friend in California. She insists that she knows exactly what she’s talking about, and there is, in fact, a baby. One she needs back here desperately. She begs Rafe to go there and find her child, then bring him back to her. She needs to hold him. She also has another request. She doesn’t want Rafe to get the authorities involved, because she doesn’t want her kid in the system.
Later, Hope nearly bursts out laughing at the news Jordan has a kid. Rafe insists that is exactly what Jordan told him and then fills her in on the rest. Now, Hope’s not laughing. In fact, she’s completely blown away by the idea he’d consider leaving again on the word of someone who isn’t exactly a stable source of info. Rafe still thinks he’s got to do it, and tells Hope that Ted Laurent (Gilles Marini) can help her hold down the fort. She’s not amused by that either, but it’s not going to change his mind.
By the way, this episode ends with Jordan singing “Hush Little Baby” to what appears to be a rolled-up blanket in her arms that kind of chilled us.
A matter of time?
Speaking of Claire’s secret earlier, JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) confesses his suspicions regarding the lighter he found in Claire’s jewelry box to Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans). She’s skeptical that Claire would do something like that, but JJ’s old cop instincts are clearly winning out. How long until he exposes Claire? We’ll have to wait and see…
