‘Days of Our Lives’ recap finds that Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) deals with an unexpected development while JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) has questions, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) puts his foot down, and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) has bad timing.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Jordan’s Return Means Bad News For Claire Brady, Ben Back On the Hot Seat
Claire’s managed to talk Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) into a very stupid getaway to the Salem Inn. It’s not without its problems, though, because she practically loses it in the process. Plus, she almost has a heart attack when she arrives first to find Jack and Even Donovan in the hotel room. Eve explains they were just planting the camera, then shows Claire how to use it. Claire rushes them out, and we’re laughing at the total ineptness of this whole op. Come on, Eve… what made you think trying to get a little action in the hotel room was smart? And Claire? Sweetie, the scheming life is just not for you. You’re too high-strung and are fast with the psycho eyes. That Tripp fell for any of this doesn’t speak well for his intelligence. The fact they actually got the fake marriage confession on video after all is a minor miracle. In the end, it may not matter, though.

See, Jack and Eve pushed a little too far. They arrived at the loft to allegedly congratulate the new couple, but instead turn it into a fact-finding mission. They ask why Tripp isn’t there with his new fiancé, why JJ is alone with Hayley Chen (Thia Megia), and even why she isn’t wearing a ring at the moment. JJ snaps and goes off on them, even going so far as to say he wishes Jack had never turned out to be alive. Eve is shocked and scolds JJ, but we’re sure JJ cares. He throws them out, and Hayley proceeds to panic. She ends up interrupting Tripp and Claire’s night in to call with the news their enemies are suspicious. This leads Tripp to bail on Claire, much to her obvious frustration and anger. Being alone now, she decides to go ahead and send the video of Tripp’s confession. Eve is thrilled, but JJ’s words seem to have gotten to Jack, because he puts his foot down and says “We’re not going to do that” after Eve gets the video and goes on about holding a press conference to tell everyone about the wedding scam.
Surprise confession
Jordan Ridgeway (Chrishell Hartley) is back, and she’s not in a good way. She asks for Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), who calls a temporary truce in his fight with Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) over spilling the beans about Ted Laurent (Gilles Marini) to go to her. He makes two surprising discoveries while visiting her. One, she is adamant about not starting the first fire that almost killed Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal). The other? Apparently, she’s got a kid out there.

A matter of time?
Jordan’s claim of innocence in the first cabin fire might not be needed, as JJ is already starting to ask some questions. At the loft, the previously-mentioned ring fell off Hayley’s hand, so she decided to put it back in Claire’s jewelry box to avoid Claire’s wrath should she lose it. While doing so, JJ gets a good look at the lighter inside and realizes that it looks a lot like the one Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) had when he once tried to kill Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi/Marci Miller) and Chad Deveraux (Billy Flynn). Put together with Claire’s odd reaction to said lighter almost being used during the fake proposal setup is sure to unravel Claire’s secret.
Bad timing
Speaking of Ciara, she’s still doting over Ben and decides to use her old candy striper skills to clean Ben up. This leads to them getting caught in a very compromising position by Kayla. She, by the way, says that Ben is good to go home now. Ben’s not in the best mood, though, because hearing that his sister claims she is innocent means the focus will be back on him. JJ arrives just in time to give Ben attitude over his past misdeeds, but Ciara defends him. She insists she was there, and Ben didn’t do it. This makes JJ flashback to seeing that lighter. Oops.
