‘Young and the Restless’ spoilers tease that Vickie (Amelia Heinle) hasn’t fallen madly back in love with Billy (Jason Thompson) just yet. She doesn’t want Villy to revisit past, flawed patterns. So, she’s suggested slow-walking to the man who has long been her greatest love.
‘Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Victoria and Billy, Not Quite Yet
Billy is okay with Vickie’s approach. Like Vickie, he realizes that an immediate reboot wouldn’t be wise. Most importantly, their two young children, Johnny (Ryan and Holden Hare) and Katie (Sienna Mercuri), would have their hopes raised for a permanent family reunion, which might not happen. Preceding with caution is best on that point alone.

Vickie’s thoughts are justified, first and foremost because she knows that Villy hasn’t survived during any of their incarnations. So what would make this attempt different, or simply more viable?
‘Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Billy and Phyllis’ Torrid Romance Revisited
For starters, Billy just went through a torrid romance with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). She, more than anyone else he can use as a comparison, is a starkly different version of Victoria. Anti-Vickie? Maybe.
Billy and Phyllis didn’t have children, which, based upon their ages was never reasonably possible, even for a soap opera. Their engagement lasted a matter of minutes. Yes, minutes.

As Y&R fans recall, Phyllis accepted Billy’s marriage proposal during Shick’s most recent remarriage attempt in October. Sharon (Sharon Case) outed Phick at the altar and Philly’s nascent nuptial plans literally evaporated, per Billy’s revoked offer.
Returning to Vickie this time around wasn’t a plan Billy had. He genuinely hasn’t been seeking a rebound, but simply has been there for her during Christmas and New Year’s, all while Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) has been recovering from the hit-and-run.
It’s always a great episode when these two are in scenes together. #YR pic.twitter.com/ZTOk6KHqEz

Reed’s (Tristan Lake Leabu) unfortunately and now-admitted entanglement in that life-threatening matter also reminded Vickie why Billy is a uniquely important part of her life. They’ve known each other for a number of years and have been present during the most dire periods of their lives within this decade.
‘Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Past Revivals Have Been Rocky
Past revivals of this couple haven’t lasted. Whether those endings were caused by leaping back too quickly into what felt like a comfortable scenario can’t be known. But Vickie feels comfortable with the referenced slow-walking as a new approach to exploring what might be possible now.
Billy understands and agrees with Vickie’s logic. The joint conclusion appears to reveal something many duo’s experience within different time frames, which are naturally based on both involved parties. Couple specific maturity.
Vickie and Billy don’t want the old Villy back. They want a new relationship that will endure indefinitely.
That 👏 just 👏 happened. 👏 #YR pic.twitter.com/pOpfcafmQZ
