‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers relate a week in Salem filled with big news, more power plays, and an uncomfortable question for one character. Missed all the Days of Our Lives action? Let’s hit some highlights in your Days of Our Lives recap for last week to kick off our new week.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The Race Is On… and Someone’s Not Happy
Abe Carver (James Reynolds) is disappointed in Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves), because she didn’t give him a head’s up that Melinda Trask (Laura Kai Chen) is coming for his job. She claims she left a ton of messages, and Abe realizes his assistant strikes again.
We personally don’t see why she should have been obligated to break that news to him, but this is Salem and Melinda is right to call out the Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) story not running, and how cozy so many are. It really is an incestuous place. Anyway, Abe and Melinda get into a bit of a mini-debate right there, and she’s definitely going to be on the attack.

Later on, Abe gets another big shocker when he learns that Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) is also gunning for his office. Jennifer is shocked, and begs for Jack to speak to her privately. Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva), who was accompanying Jack, says she has every right to hear whatever it is.
Jack insists it’s fine and he’ll catch up with her, but Jennifer is only getting five minutes. She begs him to reconsider, because while he may be a blank slate, the public will remember all too well what he has done. She shares one of those tidbits, and Jack is upset to hear about it, but he’s not looking like he’s going to back down. He’s determined to face up to the past and give his all to getting the job.
Jennifer argues that Eve probably never even thought about the dirt that would be flying at him, and she’s only thinking about herself. He surprises us by saying he’s well-aware he’s being used. Seems he’s not as dumb as it looked.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Secret’s Out
In related news, Hayley Chen (Thia Megia) had made a hasty retreat when JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) started being a little too inquisitive. She leaves early for her shift at the hospital, running into her sister on the way. Melinda shows a tiny hint of humanity in asking about her money situation, as well as housing, but she still insists that Hayley has to keep her distance, and her mouth shut.
JJ, who had chased after her to give her the phone she forgot, overhears some of the conversation and asks more questions. Hayley eventually relents and admits that she’s in the country illegally.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Power Plays and Apologizes
Xander goes to Doug’s Place for a drink. Seems he might have needed a bit of an ego fix after Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) wakes up to find him in her bed again and throws him out. And we just want to warn any future character who may stay in that house to lock their doors.
Seems there’s a real problem with people sneaking into others’ beds there. Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) tells him they’re not open yet and takes off, asking Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) to keep an eye on him. Now that the two men are alone, Xander congratulates him on the CEO job and offers some info on DiMera in exchange for a title there.
Brady plays along a moment, then awesomely humiliates Xander by offering an executive position in the janitorial department. He advises Xander to get out while he’s ahead. Xander promises that, should he leave town, he won’t be leaving empty-handed. Oops.
Speaking of Xander and Sarah, Eric is still smarting from catching them together and instructs Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) to keep him out of any future attempts at winning her back. Rex agrees and takes off to try and make things right. Unfortunately, when he gets to the Kiriakis estate, he finds the condom packets Xander had dropped in Sarah’s room when she kicked him out.
Back at Eric’s place, Sarah is begging forgiveness of Eric when Rex returns. He sees them holding hands and wants to know what the hell is going on. We say that he pretty much is getting what he deserves.
