‘Days of Our Lives’ comings and goings report that Bryan Dattilo doesn’t appear to be long for the show. After a tweet went out in June detailing how much time he’d been on the show and thanking his Days family, the online sites were all abuzz about what that will mean for his character.
DOOL Comings and Goings – Farewell, Lucas?
Although he’s leaving ‘DOOL’, we know there is always the possibility of a recasting when an actor leaves a show (or a ‘death’ where no body is found). ‘Days of Our Lives’ has set up a great reason for the character to leave Salem, at least for a while. Currently, he’s involved in a custody battle with Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans). She showed up with a baby that was supposedly conceived during a drunken hookup. Of course, being Bonnie, people are skeptical, but there’s a DNA test to back the claim up. What he doesn’t know is, the test came out conclusive because the baby is actually Mimi Lockhart (Farah Fath) and Rex Brady’s (Kyle Lowder). Rex doesn’t know this either, as she didn’t want to complicate his life with news about what their one-time fling led to. Mimi was pressured into providing the child briefly to help Bonnie get out of prison. Lucas is ready to fight for his supposed kid, and is bracing himself for what is sure to be an ugly battle.
25 years. 2 months. 12 days. And 4 hours. Good run. Thanks to my Days family and fans. Enjoy Lucas while you can.

Unfortunately for Bonnie (and Lucas), the plot is falling apart, so it won’t be long before he’s aware of the scam. If that isn’t enough to make a guy want to escape it all, what is?
Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings – Bryan Dattilo Leaves DOOL Yet Again
This won’t be the first time the actor has left the show, so never count out the possibility of him returning at some point in the future. He left in 2001, as well as doing stints from later that year until 2010, coming back in 2012 for his most recent tenure. This has apparently sometimes come with a little controversy, particularly in 2001. So far, it sounds like this pending leave is completely mutual and on good terms.
What’s next for Bryan Dattilo?
According to a recent interview, he’s looking toward a potential run elsewhere. In particular he talked about possibly redeeming himself by trying for a slot of General Hospital. He admittedly didn’t do a great job when he tried years ago. He also revealed that he’s already finished filming, so the end definitely appears near.
After almost half of the show’s existence playing Kate Robert’s son, a former military cadet and recovering alcoholic, he’s not looking like he’s having a hard time filling his new-found free time. His Twitter account is filled with adorable shots of pumpkin carving and scuba adventures with his daughter, as well as recently joining Instagram to share more adventures via video. He also recently participated in a Star Struck Fan Event cruise and has been busy getting some new head shots ready. Yeah, you probably won’t be waiting long to see him back on your screens after his stint ends on Days.
